Transformation

luxury interior design

As we kick off the new year, my mind and heart are filled with excitement and hope for… well … ALL the things!

My energy has been renewed after a wonderful holiday season, and my goals – both personally and professionally – are well defined. It’s sure to be another incredible year filled with options and opportunities, growth and transformation … and I can’t wait!

To kick off 2023, we’re doing a mini-series on one of our favorite transformations, #lifeatlarosa

This extensive renovation was designed for a blended family who needed fresh energy and wide-open spaces… all without leaving the comfort of their existing home.

The needs list was long for this active family with three teenage boys and a lovable fur baby, and as we listened to them outline their dreams, my mind swirled with ideas.

Insert one of my all-time favorite aspects of being a designer … space planning ... and you get one happy girl!

One of our client's primary needs was a large, open area intimate enough for their immediate family, yet one that easily accommodated regular entertaining for large groups of people (often more than 20 at a time). So off to the literal drawing board we went.

Because we believe your environment creates the backdrop for meaningful moments and memories.

We removed the overbearing fireplace in the center of the room, relocating the firebox so they could still enjoy the ambiance this feature provided. We then "stole" a small section of their back patio, bringing that section inside to acquire a bit more square footage and lose the awkward angles that once defined the space.

And absolute magic happened.

What was once a cramped and dated great room was radically transformed into an entertainer’s paradise. Our client said goodbye to their small kitchen with a low ceiling, no pantry, and very little storage … and hello to an airy and bright, spacious, and gorgeous atmosphere with ample storage and plenty of room to roam. We even added a highly sought-after powder bath so their guests no longer needed to use the boy's bathroom. :-D

So what happened to our client’s old kitchen? We turned it into a much-needed butler’s pantry and project room, of course!

Because we believe personalized design is the foundation for a life well-lived.

And we can’t wait to take this journey with you.

In Gratitude and Good Vibes,

Michelle and the Creative Edge team
