Travel.

It enriches our lives and allows us to see and experience things from a completely different perspective.

And while there’s no denying I’m obsessed with quick excursions (I soak those

babies up every chance I can!) … what truly speaks to my soul and makes my

heart sing is immersive travel.

It opens a portal to freedom, and a giddy sensation is my constant sidekick as I

adventure my way through life and its endless opportunities for inspiration.

For those of us called to wander, our curious spirits yearn to learn new things

about the world we share with others.

We experience a certain rush when we open our hearts and minds to that curiosity.

We want to be one with the people and feel their zest for life, learn about the

rich history of our new surroundings, and honor a culture that’s chalk full of

flavor.

We want to discover obscure neighborhood hang-outs and expand our horizons by experimenting with the local cuisine.

We use love and laughter to overcome communication and language barriers.

And we choose to bring all that richness back home and infuse it into our life –

and our surroundings.

My recent excursions through Spain continue to blow my mind and make my heart happy.

We watched crewmen repair cobblestone streets that date back to a time before Christ roamed this earth.

We saw how the build teams renovated – and retrofitted – original buildings with today’s modern world necessities.

We explored ancient Roman ruins, walked the gladiator halls, and felt the cool, damp air coming up from the dungeons below.

We were captivated by the incredible architecture we stumbled upon and sought out, spending countless hours in cathedrals, art galleries, monasteries, glass palaces, and more.

We studied original tile work and stunning mosaics that have been around for

thousands of years.

We saw how the locals repurposed abandoned cathedrals and buildings, turning them into store fronts, multi-family living, and pop-up galleries to showcase local artisans.

And we found ourselves in outrageous situations a time or two (hello being unexpectedly homeless in Madrid!).

But that’s life … and adventuring. It’s meant to teach us new ways of thinking,

including thinking on our feet. It’s meant to be perfectly imperfect.

After two very full weeks of being on the road and traveling from city to city, I brought home copious amounts of inspiration and a litany of ideas, tools, and items to incorporate into our clients’ projects.

Because they’re travelers too.

We swap stories and bucket list destinations.

We share a passion for exploration; for finding specialty art, furnishings, accessories, and mementos that call to us while we’re exploring all that life has to offer. And then infusing those items into our designs as visual representations of the unforgettable memories that have been created and will forever hold a special place in our hearts and minds.
