Making A Difference

December 7, 2022
Service. It’s been a prominent and impactful part of my life since I came into this world. It’s something my family did all my growing up years.

Service.

It’s been a prominent and impactful part of my life since I came into this world. It’s something my family did all my growing up years. And in turn, it’s something we raised our children to embody as well.

It’s a year-round calling … it’s a passion … and it means the world to me.

One of my biggest “soft spots” is children. I love their perspective, I love spending time with them, and I love learning about what’s happening in their lives. So it’s a sure bet that many of my life endeavors revolve around kids.

When our boys were little, we told them Santa didn’t come to children who didn’t share, so into their rooms they went for our semi-annual “purge”… hand selecting then washing clothes, toys, and other items for children in need. We’d also save our change throughout the year, then turn all those coins into cash to buy as many Christmas Angels as we could.

Because we believe your environment creates the backdrop

for meaningful moments and memories

One of the things that makes Christmas extra special to me are our service projects. And it’s deeply gratifying that our boys, now grown and making their own marks on this world, have adopted this mentality to carry into the next generation.

A few weeks back I received a call that stopped me in my tracks resonated deeply.

“Mom … I just met with a friend and heard the most amazing story. Do you have a few moments?”

The answer was a resounding yes.

Our son’s friend had shared a deeply personal truth from a few years back (the story can be found in this link: https://www.porch.church/christmas). Like many, Covid had hit his family hard and they’d lost almost their entire revenue stream overnight. They had littles to provide for, and not long thereafter … it was Christmas.

What inspired me most was how his friend used this extremely difficult time in their life as a catalyst for change, focusing on making a difference in the lives of others. Dave is now a pastor and has created the Christmas Store, a magical place for families in need … all inspired by random acts of kindness strangers had made in his life at their deepest time of need. It doesn’t get more impactful than that!

Life is about so much more than interior design. It’s about designing our lives in a way that truly resonates with us. It’s about making a difference, both personally and professionally.

Because we believe personalized design is the

foundation for a life well-lived.

And we can’t wait to take this journey with you.

In Gratitude and Good Vibes,
